Happy new year!
I definitely failed with my 30
resolutions - some of them were achieved, but looking back at "the list"
today, I realized how broad and vague some of my resolutions were.
Here's what I did manage to achieve:
6. Watch a movie I've always wanted to see
Recently my husband and I watched Casablanca...loved it. The dialogue was great and I didn't realize what a spy movie it was!
14. Pick strawberries and make jam
I
loved this - my mom & I picked delicious strawberries at
A&M Farms near our house and made 2 types of strawberry jam -
sugar free and LOADs of sugar! Delicious!
24. Do something daring & dangerous
We
bought our first house! We love it...needs some work but everything is
in shape and plenty of room to grow. The best part for us is what's
outside of the house - a big yard and within walking distance to a
main-street district with shops & restaurants, it's right on the
Little Miami River and a skip & hop from the bike trail!
28. Be more loving towards those I love
26. Spend more time with friends
What else can I say!
21. Spin
LOVED it and this is my #1 workout for 2011...low impact, high sweat. Besides swimming, this is one of my favorites.
It
was a crazy year though, we traveled to Hawaii in February for a
beautiful vacation...we balanced the craziness of Honolulu with the
peacefulness of Kaui. I can't wait to go back!
We
also headed down to Hilton Head for 4th of July, and in December bought
our new house!
Looking forward to this year, 2011, I want to have
resolution(s) that are much more solid and attainable.
2011 Resolutions - only 3!
#1 - I will become healthy and strong and I will stay healthy and strong.
Right
now my goal is to feel better but it's also nice to have a weight goal
as well - mine is to lose 10 to feel better, and to lose 10 more to be a
lean, mean machine!
How will I do it?
#1 Exercise.
I really need to establish a routine!
* Bootcamp 1 night/ week
* Yoga 2 days/ week
* Spinning 2 days/ week
#2 Diet.
Can't forget the diet! When I say diet, I mean eating habits.
I'd much rather eat food as "fuel" for my body than say "I am not eating bread or sugar."
I'm
focusing on lean proteins, such as fish and chicken, as well as fruits
& veggies. I love good food and need to think more about the
benefits of eating locally and eating smart than eating food that is
indulgent ALL the time, like the Jelly Belly Buttered Popcorn jelly
beans I love or potato chips!
#2 I will follow the Five Agreements in my daily life.
A good friend recommended this book and I have been blown away by don Miguel Ruiz's words -
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
3. Don’t Make Assumptions
4. Always Do Your Best
5. Be Skeptical, But Learn to Listen
#3 I will capture my thoughts weekly in my blog - at least 5 days/ week.
This may be the hardest!
That's that...happy new year to everyone and I can't wait to see what the year will bring!
